Best Speed! Best Performance!

Dhiraagu broadband provides the BEST speed! The BEST performance!

Isn't it?

Oh! Don't you agree?

Eventhough you don't agree it is the best. Well, I mean the BEST in MALDIVES.

Now you agree! Huh!

Atleast, they didn't lie!

Still its fake ive to say the true speed isnt thre

lets do the calculation to chk whether its true or not
so lets get into Back int to the basics

Remember that a bit (binary digit) is the single piece of information in digital systems, it is either a 0 or a 1. A byte, instead, is a group of 8 bits. When we talk about computer memories or data storage 1 kilobit refers to 1024 (2^10) bits, 1 megabit refers to 1024 kilobits (or 1024 x 1024 bits), 1 kilobyte refers to 1024 bytes and so on.

In telecommunications, however, transmission rates have traditionally been declared in bits per second (bps) and 1 kilobit refers to 1000 bits and not 1024 as in data storage, after all we are talking about discrete signal pulses that describe the bandwidth.

The Internet service providers, on the other hand, declare speed in bits per second. Suppose you have a DSL running at 512 kbps in downstream. The first thing to do is to divide that number by 8 so we transform kilobits (1000 bits) per second into 1000 bytes per second. After that we need to divide the obtained number by 1,024 because we are now talking about data storage, therefore 1 kilobyte must be equal to 1024 bytes and not 1000 bytes as we have assumed for the transmission rate.

So 512 kbps / 8 = 64.000 bytes
then 64.000 bytes / 1,024 = 62,5 Kilobytes/s or kB/s

Internet speed = Download speed

256 kbps = 31,3 KB/s
512 kbps = 62,5 KB/s
1 mbps = 122,1 KB/s
5 mbps = 610,3 KB/s
10 mbps = 1220,7 KB/s

Dhiraagu.i have to tell you this time you are using a wrong strategy.we all hate your internet service. really. really.

the bandwidth dhiraagu gives to their customers with a 2mbps package is just 3GB. Imagine! Only 3GB. You can't even download a DVD quality movie with a 3GB bandwidth. Imagine 3GB for one month. Then they have this unlimited plan. But the sweet part is it is 512 kbps. So speed is not very good. What an ISP. Having music shows to promote the so called broadband service. You tell this story to any European and he or she will just laugh at the stupidness of Maldivian companies. Or aren't we stupid when we say nothing and live happily with dhiraagu?

i'm using dhiraagu & ever since they 'upgraded' their packages, torrent downloading is close to impossible. they definitely blocked torrent ports. browsin speed should be double on paper since it's 'upgraded' from 256 to 512 but i honestly dont see much difference in that either. if this is the the kind of 'upgrade' they come up with i dont know what to say. i hear focus speeds are higher...

its true man
i got the full speed till april
and now some how my torrents say 'connection closed by peer'

when i checked it out there is a similar prob going on in malay. an isp called tmNET keep blocking thefile sharing ports, like emule, ares, utorrent and stuff.

it seems like the routing for maldives is taken from malay. so what they block we are blocked.
when ever the change the routing to another country, i get good speed or bad speed.
once i had to keep my pc for 2 months to download a movie.

the only thing downloaded in a day is the popular stuff like naruto, bleach and these serials, and that is also on the day its released. cuz most of male' downloads it so i get lot of peers.

so far i get 0.6 to 3 kb/s
and rearly, i get 15kb/s

this is insane. i'm waiting for a new isp to come and rescue us from this terrible cell.
apparently we small folk have no choice.

leash lines and setalite connections are damn too expensive.

Oh and by the way the customer service is really great in dhiraagu. i've being asking them to look in to my prob since april. and everytime they say the'll call and so far not a single call from dhiraague.

I hate dhiraague

i hope some new isp comes
i hope the entire maldives leaves dhiraagu for their trechary and bury that company alive!!!!!
