You Comment - I Follow
I am taking part in the "You Comment - I Follow" movement. If you wanna know what it is then keep reading. Commenting has been one of the ways where bloggers get to know each other. I indeed have a reasonable amount of visits to my site through my comments on other blogs. But the sad part here is that links in comments are not crawled by search engines due to the nofollow attribute attached to those links. Blogger and almost all the other blogging services include the nofollow attribute for the links in comments as well as backlinks. This has been a frustration for most of the bloggers, but no more. Now we can remove the nofollow attribute from links in comments and backlinks in our blogs. How to do? Uh! I can't explain very well, so have a click here. That is also the place where I came to know about the You Comment - I Follow movement. To represent participation in the movement you can insert a small banner image in your sidebar. Also, you can find a variety of banners at that blog.

I have installed the dofollow plugin on two of my blogs to gauge the response, and if it goes well I will install it on the others. One plugin that is common with all my blogs is Andy's commentluv plugin as I reckon it is a great way to reward people for leaving a comment.

great idea this You-comment-I-follow. But tell me if I make a blog in blogsome, then how can I no my blog is no/do follow?how to modify it?
I'll have to look into this follow movement further! If it doesn't help out the spammers I'm all for helping fellow bloggers :D

I'm surprised you were able to get this to work with blogspot. All my attempts on my own had nofollow automatically inserted into people's comments. Custom template I'm assuming?

I like your concept! United do-follow bloggers! I also understand the reasons why to put the blog settings on nofollow but if you have a good spam filter there is no use in doing so.

I love do follow blogs as well. In fact, I make it a point that every one of mine is a you comment I follow blog. I just hate it when some people gets too abusive on this priviledge.
I think it’s a great idea and I hope it brings you lots of visitors. I have a website done with Drupal. I am not sure whether it has a module for this though! I am definitely going to be a part of the "u comment, I follow" movement.

I decided also to put dofollow attribute to my comments. I just uploaded dofollow plugin for wordpress. Just like you, I also want to give credits to people who visit and leave valuable comments my site.

I am also more than happy to join the "dofollow" movement because nofollow links never made sense to me anyway. What's the point of asking people for the address of their website if the link is dead??
This is what drives me crazy about dumb spammers. Most people in EO know why blog commenting is important, but it's the idiots that post "nice blog", "I agree", or like the ones above. "yeah,I like DOfollow blog."
Can you not even take the extra time to type a gramatically correct sentence? It's spammers like you that are ruining blog commenting. I at least skim the blog article I will comment on, and many time I end up reading the whole thing because it is interesting or I learn something to put into practice on my websites.
I have a wallpaper site http://www.wallpapersite.com I also allow DOFOLLOW by this way i am getting more comments and i can connect more with my visitos. Yes it takes some time to moderate comments but so what?

I have already joined the "U comment I follow" movement and got various benefits in one of my blog. This movement is very useful for both the blog owners and also the readers. They increase the traffic and thereby the PR of the site. For commentors, it gives good backlinks.

Its a good movement. Any website that just got launched need somewhere to start. Brand new websites are in a circular problem. They need backlinks to get good pagerank and to get backlinks they need good pr. You comment I follow is one good way to help the new sites.
